Call for Papers
Special Issue on current research trends in cellular automata theory

The goal of this Special Issue is to represent current research trends in the area of cellular automata and related discrete dynamical systems. The Special Issue is based on the AUTOMATA 2015 workshop held in Turku, Finland, in June 2015, but submissions are not limited to extensions of papers presented at the workshop.
As in the workshop, the topics of interest of this Special Issue include (but are not limited to): dynamics, topological, ergodic and algebraic aspects, algorithmic and complexity issues, emergent properties, formal language processing, symbolic dynamics, models of parallelism and distributed systems, timing schemes, phenomenological descriptions, scientific modeling and practical applications.
We are soliciting high-quality papers in these areas. The material in a paper must represent substantially new work that has not been previously published. If the submission is based on a paper presented at the conference it must significantly extend beyond the proceedings copy. All papers will follow a standard peer-review process.
